A product of the Volkswagen Group’s design team led by .J Mays in California, the Audi TT was shown as a concept car in September of 1995 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. Three years later, in 1998, the production version arrived to great fanfare, as its show car looks made it to the street almost intact. The TT Coupe’s distinctive appearance translated well to the Roadster version, which was introduced as a concept car called the TTS at the Tokyo Motor Show in November of 1995. The production version of the TT Roadster was introduced in 1999. Audi’s TT 3.2 models were introduced in 2004 with a 247-horsepower V6, which made them the most powerful iterations of the car up until that time.
